7.3L Power Stroke – BACK PRESSURE VALVE – Removal

1. Open the hood. Remove the air charge cooler inlet and outlet ducts from the compressor manifold. Loosen the            exhaust outlet pipe clamp, pull the exhaust pipe away from the exhaust backpressure valve and disconnect the              exhaust outlet pipe from the turbocharger. See Fig. 90.

2. Slide the retaining clip toward the turbocharger housing. Disconnect the exhaust back pressure valve actuator rod       from the exhaust back pressure valve. See Fig. 91. Remove the 6 bolts and the exhaust back pressure valve.
