The air discharge line is supplied and connected directly to the engine’s air compressor by the vehicle OEM.
For some applications, a noise reduction tank, or ping tank, has been installed on the engine to reduce air compressor pumping noise. If the engine is equipped with a ping tank, the OEM will connect the air discharge line to the ping tank and not directly to the air compressor.
This procedure covers the removal and installation of the noise reduction tank or ping tank and related components only.
Batteries can emit explosive gases. To reduce the possibility of personal injury, always ventilate the compartment before servicing the batteries. To reduce the possibility of arcing, remove the negative (-) battery cable first and attach the negative (-) battery cable last.
