Wear appropriate eye and face protection when using compressed air. Flying debris and dirt can cause personal injury.
Make sure the area around the aftertreatment purge air actuator is clear of debris. Use compressed air to clean the area and remove any loose dirt particles.
Disconnect the wiring harness from the aftertreatment purge air actuator.
NOTE: The aftertreatment purge air actuator is supplied with air by the vehicle’s air system.
Remove the air supply to the aftertreatment purge air actuator. Refer to the OEM service manual.
When using solvents, acids, or alkaline materials for cleaning, follow the manufacturer’s recommendations for use. Wear goggles and protective clothing to reduce the possibility of personal injury.

NOTE: Do not remove the valve from the aftertreatment purge air actuator. If any part of the aftertreatment purge air actuator is suspected of damage, the assembly must be replaced as a unit.
Clean the aftertreatment purge air actuator using safety solvent. Carefully remove any debris on the inlet screen using safety solvent. Do not damage or remove the inlet screen.
