In addition to the control unit, the Digital Diesel Electronics system consists of diverse sensors and actuators. The sensors supply information, the actuators receive variables from the control unit.
The sensors and actuators communicate with the DDE control unit through a variety of interfaces:
• Analog inputs
• Digital inputs
• Frequency inputs
• Power output stages
• Switching outputs
• Signal output stages, bi-directional interfaces
• Supply
The signals and their associated components corresponding to these interfaces are described below.
