Batteries can emit explosive gases. To reduce the possibility of personal injury, always ventilate the compartment before servicing the batteries. To reduce the possibility of arcing, remove the negative (-) battery cable first and attach the negative (-) battery cable last.
Disconnect the batteries. Refer to the OEM service manual.
Remove all OEM components connected to the front power take-off (PTO). Refer to the OEM service manual.
NOTE: If the drive adapter is being replaced, be sure the correct adapter is used. There are several different adapters with a variety of connecting configurations.
Install the drive adapter on the crankshaft.Install and hand tighten the six capscrews.
