Preparatory Steps

 WARNING 

Batteries can emit explosive gases. To reduce the possibility of personal injury, always ventilate the compartment before servicing the batteries. To reduce the possibility of arcing, remove the negative (-) battery cable first and attach the negative (-) battery cable last.
  • Disconnect the batteries. Refer to the OEM service manual.
  • Remove all OEM components connected to the front power take-off (PTO). Refer to the OEM service manual.

Loosen and remove the six capscrews from the drive adapter.

Remove the drive adapter from the crankshaft.

Inspect for Reuse

Inspect the adapter for cracks, excessive wear, and other damage.

Replace the adapter if damage is found.

Install

NOTE: If the drive adapter is being replaced, be sure the correct adapter is used. There are several different adapters with a variety of connecting configurations.

Install the drive adapter on the crankshaft.Install and hand tighten the six capscrews.

Tighten the capscrews.

Torque Value:  203  n.m  [150 ft-lb]

Finishing Steps

  • Install all OEM components connected to the front PTO. Refer to the OEM service manual.
  • Connect the batteries. Refer to the OEM service manual.
  • Operate the engine and check for leaks and proper operation.
