Cummins ISX11.9 CM2250 – Service Manual 019-365   Crankshaft Position Sensor

The crankshaft position sensor is located on the rear flywheel housing next to the rear camshaft gear cover.

Disconnect the engine wiring harness from the crankshaft position sensor.

Remove the crankshaft position sensor.

Inspect the crankshaft position sensor for debris or damage.

If there is debris on the sensor, clean the sensor.

If the sensor is chipped, cracked, or otherwise damaged, replace the sensor.

Install a new o-ring onto the crankshaft position sensor.

Install the sensor into the mounting hole.

Connect the engine wiring harness to the sensor. An audible click will be heard when the connector locks in place.
