For further information on vehicles that have the diesel particulate lamp illuminating frequently, high exhaust temperature lamp (if equipped) illuminating frequently, and/or requires frequent automatic/stationary regenerations, use the following troubleshooting symptom tree.

OEM or customer selected inhibit feature is preventing active regeneration during vehicle operation and requiring frequent stationary regenerations |
Check the aftertreatment system inhibit feature with INSITE™ electronic service tool. Change the vehicle route and/or duty cycle so the inhibit feature does not prevent active regeneration or contact the OEM/customer about changing inhibit features. |

Extended operation of engine in low duty cycle, extended idling and/or low ambient temperatures |
Check the aftertreatment system trip information with INSITE™ electronic service tool. Low duty cycle applications can possibly require more active regeneration time to keep the aftertreatment system functioning correctly. Change the vehicle route and/or duty cycle to increase the load on the engine, in order to decrease the amount of active regeneration time. |
