The high pressure pump (HPP) is located at the front left side of the engine (comparable to the distributor-type fuel injection pump).
Different HPPs are used for different models of engine:
• HPP with flange-mounted pressure control valve (M57 – CP1, common rail pump)
• HPP with element cutout option (M67 – CP3, common rail pump)
