Cummins N14 – Intake Manifold – Cleaning and Inspection

Cleaning
Remove all gasket material from the gasket mating surfaces.
Use solvent or steam to clean the intake manifold.
Warning: When using a steam cleaner, wear protective clothing and safety glasses or a face shield. Hot steam
can cause serious personal injury.
Dry with compressed air.

Inspection
Visually inspect the intake manifold for cracks, fretting, or other damage.
Clean and visually inspect mating surfaces on the cylinder head for cracks and fretting.
Replace the manifold if cracks or other damage are found.
