1. Ensure that the crankshaft is tree o f oil and dirt.
2. Clean the seal bore in the flywheel housing.
3. Position the crankshaft rear oil seal onto the crankshaft.
IMPORTANT: J 44642 must be fully secured to the crankshaft to ensure proper seal depth. See Special Tools .
4. Install J 44642 to the crankshaft. See Special Tools .
5. Press the crankshaft rear oil seal into position using J 44642 , the tool will bottom out when the seal reaches the proper depth. See Special Tools.
6. Remove J 44642 . See Special Tools .
7. Install the flywheel. Refer to Engine Flywheel Replacement.
