Preparatory Steps

 WARNING 

Batteries can emit explosive gases. To reduce the possibility of personal injury, always ventilate the compartment before servicing the batteries. To reduce the possibility of arcing, remove the negative (-) battery cable first and attach the negative (-) battery cable last.

To reduce the possibility of personal injury, avoid direct contact of hot oil with your skin.
 WARNING 

Some state and federal agencies have determined that used engine oil can be carcinogenic and cause reproductive toxicity. Avoid inhalation of vapors, ingestion, and prolonged contact with used engine oil. If not reused, dispose of in accordance with local environmental regulations.

Remove

Loosen the lubricating oil transfer tube mounting capscrew.

Remove the lubricating oil transfer connection mounting capscrews.

Remove the lubricating oil transfer connection.

Discard the gasket.

Clean and Inspect for Reuse

Clean the gasket material from the lubricating oil transfer connection and block stiffener plate mounting surface.

Check the part for cracks or other damage. If the connection is cracked or damaged, it must be replaced.

Install

Lubricate the lubricating oil transfer tube o-ring with clean 15W-40 engine oil.

Insert the lubricating oil transfer tube into the lubricating oil transfer connection.

Check to make sure the o-ring is not rolled.

Install the lubricating oil transfer connection mounting capscrews.

SMALL | MEDIUM | LARGE
   


Tighten the lubricating oil transfer tube mounting capscrews.

Torque Value:  47  n.m  [35 ft-lb]
