Preparatory Steps

 WARNING 

Do not remove the pressure cap from a hot engine. Wait until the coolant temperature is below 50°C [120°F] before removing the pressure cap. Heated coolant spray or steam can cause personal injury.
 WARNING 

Coolant is toxic. Keep away from children and pets. If not reused, dispose of in accordance with local environment regulations.

Remove

Remove the EGR valve mounting bracket capscrews and the mounting bracket.

Use protective caps from the Air Handling Clean Care Kit, Part Number 4919799, to cover open points in the air handling system.

Clean and Inspect for Reuse

Inspect the bracket for signs of fretting, material transfer, cracks, or other damage.

Replace the EGR valve support bracket if fretting, material transfer, cracks, or other damage is found.

Install

TOC

Position the EGR valve mounting bracket.

Install and tighten the 12 mounting capscrews.

Torque Value:  45  n.m  [33 ft-lb]
